Work Privacy? What is it? It's a question which might become more common in the coming years with the new policies implemented daily by old and new companies all over the world in order to maintain control, order and discipline within their business, but is it really necessary to go that far? Are they crossing a line?

It's not surprising for anyone the fact that businesspeople want to protect their investment and they'll do almost anything to make and secure a profit from  it, and they're right to do it. Many people will try to take advantage of their jobs and positions to try slack off, miss or even steal at work and for these reasons managers decide to protect their jobs by observing their employees at all times.

On the other hand, not every employee is there to misbehave or do wrongdoings in the workplace and not everyone deserves to be treated like that. On top of that, some companies cross the line at the moment of "preventing". Many of these companies skip the protecting and go up to a "peeping level" where they have cameras even in the bathrooms are changing rooms; forgetting completely about employees rights to privacy.

In conclusion, it's true companies have the right to protect themselves and their investments however they need to respect everyone's privacy while doing it in order to maintain a healthy work environment. And always remember Mexican President Benito Juarez, who served from 1858 to 1872, and said: "Between individual, as between nations, peace means respect for the rights of others.
